A dogged duo of response cops have been on a two-man anti-crime wave in Southampton in the last fortnight - arresting 35 high priority suspects between them! The pair have been out following up intel and patrolling the city's streets, with a focus on locating and bringing suspects in burglary, assault, domestic abuse and sexual offence investigations into custody. Since January 19, PCs Hampton and Parkinson have made 35 arrests so far, and that work won't be stopping anytime soon. Deputy district commander, Chief Inspector Charlie Ilderton said: "PC Hampton and PC Parkinson's tenacious work has been key in allowing us to progress important investigations, take offenders off our city's streets, and protect vulnerable people. "In particular, their work has been vital to our focus on targeting domestic abuse perpetrators." Among those arrested, 26 have been part of investigations into domestic abuse related crimes. The pair have also arrested two suspects in rape investigations, two for reports of burglary, one for fraud, and one for child sexual offences, among others. Ch/Insp Ilderton added: "The relentless work of these two officers is a shining example of what our teams do across the city every day to get criminals locked up, and ensure that victims are safe and being properly supported. "As a district, our teams are committed to tackling violent and acquisitive crime, reducing and address violence against women and girls - in particular domestic abuse - and addressing anti-social behaviour. “These arrests send a clear message, if you know we are seeking to speak with you in connection with an investigation, then get in touch and come to us, otherwise PC Hampton and PC Parkinson will come and find you.” | ||
